If I Could Give it a Higher Review, I Would!
We LOVE gnocchi! We discovered it many years ago, and are always on the look out for it at restaurants. The brand we used to purchase, we could no longer find, so I turned to trusty Amazon.com, and found the DeCecco brand. We are always skeptical of anything new in the gnocchi area, and I have to say, we have decided that this brand is even better than what we were using before! We LOVE to have gnocchi with pesto sauce for dinner, and this particular brand is awesome! You will not be disappointed in the flavor, and the price is not bad either! As a matter of fact, I think I am nearly out of gnocchi, and will be needing to place another order very soon!

Closest to homemade that I have tasted...
I love gnocchi, but I am terrible at making them. I have been spoiled growing up with my mother (from Italy) and aunts (from Italy) all making the most amazing gnocchi. That being said, I have to say that the DeCecco gnocchi, although not tasting "homemade," are the best purchased gnocchi I've tasted. I've already ordered 2 packs of 12! Its great for a last minute meal if you have sauce in the fridge as they cook in a few minutes. Great with bechamel or white sauce too.

Product Description

Potato gnocchi are a typical dish of the Italian culinary tradition and differ according to the regional origin in Dimenion, form and dough type. De Cecco introduces a tasty and balanced product, born from the classical recipe which simply combines select potatoes with soft grain flour. They are known for cooking in just a few minutes, their oval shape and ridged surface make them perfect to create new inviting dishes every day. They are delicious with a wide range of sauces like ragu' or pesto alla Genovese or with special and creative cheese based creamy sauces, or simply with melted butter, sage and parmesan. Since 1886 we have liked our pasta to be bronze drawn and slowly dried because we like it to fall into the plate full of taste, rough and always "al dente". Even though our taste has not changed, as we feel the same love for tradition, we have continued to improve our production technologies. Top to learn more

Good Substitute For Fresh
I usually make my own gnocchi but these worked as a good substitute for a crowd. I'll keep them on hand. I made them with a sun dried tomato cream sauce and our daughter in law went out of her mind over them, next I'll try them in the gorgonzola sauce and hope she likes them as well. All in all if you don't have the time or inclination to make them fresh these will work decently.

yum- quick gnocchi
I love gnocchi and generally only purchase it when dining out. I bought these on a whim b/c they were on special. They shipped fine-- though there was a lot of extra packaging. Tonight when my families dinner plans fell through, I thought I would try them for a quick dinner. They were fantastic. I followed the directions - throwing in some fresh asparagus in the water at the last min. then made a quick cream sauce. They were truly wonderful - one package was enough for my very hungry teenager, husband and me. I was especially happy with the texture as the last brand of gnocchi I purchased was just a bit gritty.

Gnocci's Are Delicious!
While these are about the same price I'd pay in the store, since I am disabled and cannot drive they are of value to me. Definitely if you buy them on sale! This is a good brand, so don't worry about quality. We recommend them highly.

Very Tasty, But Not What I Expected
This product is very good, but my wife and I agreed that it was impossible to tell you were eating sweet potatoes, rather than regular potatoes. I expected the flavor to be distinguishable. Oh well. The only other caution is to not overcook this product. It will start to get mushy. That may be characteristic of any gnochhi, but I thought I would include this point as well.

I didn't like these....at first
I bought these at a retail store because I try to eat as healthy as I can. The combination of whole wheat and sweet potato sounded irresistible. I cooked about half of the pack and I did not like them much when I first ate them. I could detect no sweet potato taste and they were a bit mushy...I guess I overcooked them. They are quite flavorless too. So, I added a littled salt to the water when I cooked the rest of them and cooked them a little less...added some spaghetti sauce and parmesan cheese. Delicious! When these are cooked properly and doctored up with some extras they are absolutely scrumptious little dumplings. If you plan to eat them plain, prepare to be disappointed.

Great Gnocchi Board!
I bought 7 of these, since my friends and I were having a "make your own Gnocchi night." The boards are sturdy and easy to use, larger and more comfortable than a previous one I owned. Our Gnocchi came out wonderful! Price was right, shipping was free. I would definitely recommend to anyone that asks.

Great little item!
I love this thing! I just started making my own pasta, and I was rolling dough into "pillows" and forming the gnocchi with pressing my finger on it. It worked, it was relaxing, but wow did it take alot of time! When I got this item, I was whipping those gnocchis out like there was no tomorrow..LOL! The nicest part, is they looked professional like they were alot of work! When I did it using my finger, you could see all the imperfections. Love this, and it is well made yet doesn't cost much!

Conquer gnocchi with this traditional Gnocchi Board. The ridges on this 8-inch board give gnocchi its traditional shape and leave impressions on the pasta, allowing pasta to better hold the sauce that it's served with. Top to learn more

Makes Gnocchi Simpler
I appreciate this product as it takes a lot less time to make gnocchi now. What used to take me the longest was getting the imprint on it with a fork, but now with this, it takes a fraction of the time. Simply press your shaped gnocchi onto the board to get the gnocchi marks. The only negative is that the wood isn't perfectly smooth. I didn't want to wind up with splinters in my gnocchi... But I didn't have any problems.

Gnocchi belong to the creative shaped pasta cuts and come from the Campania region in Southern Italy. Their shape is fashioned after an empty grooved cone. Gnocchi can be served with light tomato or meat based sauces, superb also with pesto. Gnocchi

Very simple and quick, rich with flavor and texture, this gratin came out fragrant, bubbling and with that perfect crunchy top to it. Grab a favorite pizza sauce (whether scratch or homemade) a package of shelf stable gnocchi (or…. knock yourself... He’s also not a huge fan of gnocchi due to the texture, and that’s too bad all around because this Baked Pizza Gnocchi dish that I created is utterly divine in every way. Lately I’ve been thinking a lot more about meals with greens in them as I received an entire box of a wide variety of packaged and cleaned greens from to try out and it was probably the most exciting food stuff that’s landed on my door step... Mike and I have come to love greens like chard, beet greens and kale, but Griffin is still wary, only eating them in dishes where other flavors can mask their tastes. One recipe for a Skillet Gnocchi with Chard sounded really delicious, and my creative spark was ignited. The gnocchi become so incredibly soft and tender in the oven and it’s gorgeous enough for a special occasion, classy enough to taste like you really put out some effort. We like different foods, flavors and we all have different methods, ovens that work differently, cookware and utensils that we love (go ahead, use that garlic press if it’s your way) and these recipes that slip through our computer screens in to... I love the variety and simplicity of our meals too, the ease at preparing them now that we don’t have to wait for meat to cook, and it’s been wonderful to see Griffin expand the foods he eats and also to see that he’s learning to enjoy meatless... It is so ridiculously easy to use greens with Cut N Clean Greens in your refrigerator. back to this Gnocchi. Learn the ways of your own stove, the cut of your favorite knife, dig through your cupboards and add your own flavor, spice, extra something that you love.

We are living a vegan lifestyle for our health, the health and welfare of the animals, and that of the planet. Yes, it is a challenge to be vegan, but it makes it that much more fun to be creative and to cook delicious meals. Everyone who joins us for a meal leaves fully satisfied and with a handful of recipes.

It really was a pain in the A, and I don’t recommend you try handkneading wet gnocchi dough. It’s probably a good idea to have your sauce (which ever one you’d like to eat gnocchi with) simmering on the stove. When the water is boiling, plunge the gnocchi into the salty water. Verdict: the thing that let this dinner down, suprisingly was not the gnocchi, which was OK. The sauce was too tomatoey. So tonight I made Toby Puttock’s potato gnocchi, from his Daily Italian cookbook. Toby says you knead 150g plain flour into the dough a bit at a time, until the dough is no longer sticky. When they are all in, give the pan a little shake (back and forth) to make sure the gnocchi does not stick to the bottom. Gnocchi takes forever to get out from underneath your fingernails. While they are draining, do a cartwheel or three with joy, because while they are not the prettiest of gnocchi’s, the truth is THEY WORKED. When the gnocchi floats to the surface, scoop them out, and drain them.

Once boiling add 2 tablespoon coarse sea salt and add the gnocchi. Cut the logs into desired size, about a half inch is an average gnocchi length and put them into a large baking pan or on a working surface with a kitchen towels (or sprinkle with more flour) so they don’t stick. Roll each piece of dough out lightly, creating long “snakes” – if the dough sticks to your hands, dip them in flour as you roll them out. Carefully stir the gnocchi and let them cook until they float to the top of the water. (for the gnocchi dough) Bring a large pot of water to the boil. (to cook and serve the gnocchi) Bring a pasta pot filled with water to a boil. When the oil is hot (but not smoking hot, it will burn the garlic) add the whole garlic cloves and the onion and cook until very lightly golden. Allow the sauce to cook on medium heat for 15 minutes and try to do not over stir, lower the heat if start sticking to the bottom.
